We are committed to running a sustainable business and are ever mindful of the social and environmental impact of our activities.
ENERGY CONSERVATION
In our production process we aim to reduce energy usage as much as possible, which was one of the deciding factors in our decision about which distillation system to invest in later this year. Our new technology cuts running costs of traditional distillation by 90%.
WATER CONSERVATION
We built a water management system at our new Spirit House in order to minimise the water wastage in our production process. Our closed-circuit system will help us reduce up to 95% of the water consumed in the distillation process.
The water we use for diluting our spirits comes from the mountains in Kampot. We are working closely with our water suppliers, ProVida, to improve our water delivery system. We are in the process of implementing a new transportation and delivery system with them which will significantly reduce the packaging and increase efficiency of delivery.
WASTE & PACKAGING REDUCTION
We have a waste reduction policy and minimise waste from our production as much as possible through re-purposing into other products / uses.
Glass recycling: ‘Refill not landfill’ – encouraging domestic market customers (both retail & trade) to return their used bottles. Incentivizing with $1 off next purchase per returned bottle.
Our volume trade accounts can purchase 5L pouches that they can refill existing bottles with, which further reduces the environmental impact of bottle shipments and recycling.
SOURCING
We choose to source from farmers employing healthy farming practices and organic production where possible.
Apart from the Juniper berries in our gin, everything else is sourced from Cambodia. We are committed to working with local farmers. We pay a fair price and try to be involved as much as we can in the entire sourcing journey.
