River Mentana , Venetian dry gin, is a distilled gin that was born in Veneto, on the historical routes of the Serenissima Republic of Venice. The idea of a “Venetian gin” starts from a monobotanical gin recipe that Domenico Maschio produced in the 1940s.
River color, of perfect transparency, gives the nose very elegant aromas of juniper , freshly baked bread, toasted hazelnut and mint. In the mouth it is full, velvety, with mineral hints and accents of sea salt, white pepper and spices. The finish is long, sweet-salty, with notes of almond and cream.
It is a soft and dry gin , of great freshness, excellent as an aperitif mixed with tonic waters that are not too aromatic, in the proportion of one part of gin and two of water. Its elegance makes it suitable to be drunk “straight”, so as not to dilute and confuse the most delicate aromas.
Excellent also in the Martini Hemingway cocktail , very dry, very Venetian.
