Nysura Distillery is an independent micro-distillery based in the heart of Sicily and is one of the few companies on the island capable of carrying out the entire production process on site. Obtained a tax warehouse license for the rectification of alcohol, the company has been established in Nissoria, the birthplace of Dario Rinaldi, its founder (Nysura is the ancient name of Nissoria).

 Nysura Distillery is devoted to the territory, in a logic that valorizes the freshness of the raw materials and botanicals harvested, by respecting the rhythms of nature and seasonal cycles.

Nysura Distillery has chosen to follow its products at every stage, from the harvest of botanicals, to distillation, to bottling, to closely monitor the processes and obtain refined and high-end craft distillates.

Nysura Distillery is a pioneer in Italy for the production of gin with the use of Rotavapor®, a piece of equipment that from the benches of chemical laboratories has appeared in the kitchens of internationally renowned chefs and on the counters of creative bar tenders.

 Nysura takes care of the brand, Dario has entrusted the image and communication of his company to the artist Mariagrazia Pontorno.

Ginacria the baptism of Nysura Distillery – is the culmination of the research of Dario Rinaldi and his inquiring mind, who in this gin aims to condense his experience as an agronomist, respect for the rhythms of nature, attention to innovation and his love for Sicily.    

Ginacria – created from a careful selection of hand-harvested botanicals from Mount Etna’s steep slopes to the fertile plains of Catania. The citrus notes of lemon and orange, the aromatic echos   of licorice root, along with the unique aroma of false pepper make for a balanced and intriguing blend with Mediterranean character.

Ginacria is obtained using cold distillation, a state-of-the-art method which enables us to preserve the integrity of the most delicate botanicals, such as orange and lemon blossom. Ginacria is a blend of thoughts. The recipe – developed in collaboration with a London company specialized in cold distillation.

HEMISPHAERICA

In the shade of the Etna volcano, fed by the heat of the lava and the ash of the lapilli, a mythological juniper thrives, the basic and only botanical ingredient of Hemisphaerica. The carefully picked and selected generous and sacred berries of Juniperus communis, playing a lively and spontaneous solo – a timbre of the native Sicilian subspecies: hemisphaerica.

Our gin’s special balsamic, wild, resinous smell is captured in all its fullness by cold distillation. Hemisphaerica, at its best in cocktails where gin is the main ingredient, can also be enjoyed straight to allow full appreciation of its silkiness and persistence to linger in one’s mouth.
