As those who travel endless kilometres on the back of a Harley Davidson would say: the journey is not complete without the thunder, great views, good company and a tall, cool drink.
And for Adelle, that drink came in the form of gin.
She has an appreciation for the alchemy of gin distilling and infusing flavours, as magnificent as the blue crane on the plain of the South African countryside. This, coupled with her unquenching thirst for being creative, soon had her asking: Why not make our own locally distilled gin?
Johan searched and investigated opportunities for a second career with the focus on something fun but also with an income potential that can be turned into a micro or small business. Something to keep the mind and soul busy, create the opportunity of job creation, and add value to the surrounding community.
This is how the idea of distilling came about (amongst others), due to the creative nature of the person as well as the craft. Formal training was done, then expanded with more specific training, and the journey began with love and passion that is evident when we talk ‘distilling’.
Due to his love for rum, his main focus will be rum and selected rum related products such as liqueurs and spirit aperitifs.
