For us it all starts from nature. Nordic taste culture has its roots deep down in the four seasons, the untouched wild forests, fertile land and most likely the cleanest air on the planet. But the beauty of nature alone does not really cover it – it’s the people that matter and make a difference. Our heritage – our traditions and the way we Estonians do things. It is no secret, as a small country on the shores of the Baltic sea, we want and need to do things our way. Smart and with strong passion. This is a key to the story of our gins – unlock it and see what happens next.
Mastering a skill to fine perfection takes time. In our case it all began more than 100 years ago and we are still going strong. The truth is, distilling botanicals for us is like… gold to goldsmiths. We are distillers at Liviko, we distill and we love it. Our oldest pot still Mamma Ilse, named after our legendary master Ilse Maar, is at the core of our distilling heritage. Our distillery is still in the same historic building in the heart of Tallinn.

Surprise! We created a gin that changes colour when mixed with tonic – our copper coloured gin will turn light pink. The magic is all natural and we have to thank rose hip flower pigments for that. Crafter’s Aromatic Flower Gin is a blend of 12 aromatic botanicals. Show starts with rose hip flower and meadowsweet that are characteristic to Estonian coastline. Then to crown the taste, we add crisp juniper berries and exotic yuzu. Crafter’s Aromatic Flower Gin is quite a showstopper, we call it… gintainment.
Our Master Distiller experimented with the curious colour change of the rose hip petals. As a result the copper coloured gin turns to pink when mixed with tonic, this colour-changing effect is all natural. On top of that Crafter’s gin production follows the extensive (re)cycle and sustainability principles of Liviko Distillery.

A walk in a park? No, better. We invite you on a spiritual journey to mythical and pristine Nordic wilderness. Crafter’s Wild Forest Gin is inspired by the evergreen untouched forests of Estonia. Forests near the shoreline shaken by autumnal winds, rocks gathering moss, tall ancient trees touching the sky and adventurous fishermen tarring their boats. In short this is where our gin is coming from. Bold, earthy flavours of the forest. Let’s just say – wild. Adventure starts here.
What if the taste of gin would be a colour? You are on the right track – Crafter’s Wild Forest Gin is the most beautiful shade of green. At the heart of our crisp botanical mix is a coniferous trio of juniper berries, spruce thorns and pine shoots. Late summer heather flowers and blueberry shoots gently blend in, adding a fruity floral character. On top of that a distinctive touch of smokiness and mineral hue. Nordic at its best, it actually tastes and smells like a fresh wild forest.Saving the greenest fact to the last – Crafter’s sustainably distilled juniper is at the core of our craftsmanship. Read more about our hands-on approach to sustainability.
The core of our craftsmanship is sustainably distilled juniper. Green is how we think and act. In the process of creating Crafter’s gins we reuse 80% of the plant-based ingredients. Distilling herbs separately makes our energy consumption lower. Our gin bottles are blown in a nearby factory (85 km) and at least half of the raw material used is recycled glass. Thanks to the local production of bottles, the reuse of glass and the reduction of glass consumption by one-third, the ecological footprint of the gins has decreased significantly.
Crafter’s Wild Forest Gin is a social gin honouring the cocktail hour. In addition to the fact that our distilled botanicals inside the bottle are besties having a merry good time, they also marry really well with other ingredients. A dream for professional bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts all over the world. Whether it’s a simple and freshtastic gin & tonic served with plenty of ice and a lemon peel or a “forested” Negroni or a frothy herbal gin sour. Not to mention a greenish Dry Martini, stirred with two olives. Crafter’s Wild Forest Gin is crafted for making classics as well as unexpected creative cocktails.
