Making traditional spirits made around the globe using local premium water, grains and grapes with innovative techniques to take these classic spirits to another level and showcasing Alberta Terroir in every sip.
We are on a journey with our customers to explore the classics such as Scotch, Irish Whiskey, Bourbon, Cognac, Grappa and Baijiu with a local flavour in each drop we produce. Whether it is our local clients or those around the world, what we do is unique and intriguing to taste and enjoy.
Our innovations on traditional methods brings these traditional spirits to another level: Innovations such as the unique Lyne Arm in our Still design, using single varietals of grapes for our brandy, the use of brand new oak, lautering our Bourbon mash, Limoncello process, Cognac techniques used in our Whisky process, etc. Science and Art must be in balance as is the case with all of our spirits. Attention to detail is key in every step in order to create extraordinary flavour and aromas in our spirits through long fermentations, accurate distillation cuts and slow methodical proofing while ensuring each bottle that gets in the hands our customers is perfect by hand bottling/labelling/numbering every bottle we produce. All of these are a reflection of a premium product that deserves to be in a premium package.
Making traditional spirits with premium fresh local ingredients and using our unique geographical location and conditions for ageing as the base to our premium products to express a true reflection of Alberta Terroir. When our farmers say “I can taste my fields,” this is what we want to share with the world.
We first met in 2016 at a distilling workshop in the Okanagan. It was our passion for making spirits, attention to craftsmanship and a desire to take traditional spirits and experiences to another level that laid the foundation for Bridgeland Distillery. It was impossible to deny fate with names like Jacques and Daniel and no accident that the distillery’s focus is on Brandy, Whisky, and Eau de Vie’s highlighting our origins and heritage.
The location of the distillery is rooted in the community of Bridgeland-Riverside with over 100 years of history rich in culture and a sense of community. The distillery provides a unique working and entertaining venue connecting people with an undeniable cooperative spirit and a desire to celebrate.
Our logo depicts the Reconciliation Bridge, a through truss bridge and one of the oldest in Calgary. It spans the Bow River and has connected generations of people in and out of Downtown Calgary. It is fitting that we too are connecting generations of people by bridging tradition with innovation in the spirits we produce.
Come for a visit and hear our story about using local ingredients and highlighting Southern Alberta terroir!
