Awarded Double Gold, AnnaBay Club Aged 5 Years is a luxurious, tropical-aged sipping rum, a blend of column- and pot-still rums, each matured on its own for at least five years in ex-bourbon and ex-American whiskey casks, then re-casked to settle and layer. It rewards patience with sophisticated aromas of smoky oak, vanilla, dark chocolate and tobacco, and a rich, structured palate of honey, chocolate and mature cane, finishing warm and dry on soft oak. For centuries, sailors and travellers have gathered along the shores of the St. Anna Bay in Willemstad, Curaçao, the narrow channel that has been the island’s gateway since it was declared the region’s first free port in 1675. Above the busy waters, in the grand old trading houses along the quay, the Penha building among them, people came together over food, tall tales and a good glass of rum. Our mission is simple: to help put Curaçao on the global spirits map by distilling the essence of the island, its place, its people and its way of life, into every bottle. There was no old recipe to follow, so we wrote our own. We set out to make the rum we wanted to drink ourselves, and to pour for friends, family and guests in our own home: a premium rum made with nothing to hide.
